When Gor had retaken Zarghol's old Cal after having killed his contestant Qrrak in a duel, he explained the Corporal and the next steps that now should be taken. Among other things, he would state that a few days back a strange human was observed by some Firewielder scouts. He had a powerful aura and directly went to the caverns below the Foot of Barga Gor. Gor was rather curious about the human and proposed to go after him and a fitting time.

I cannot sense their echo. The corpses are relatively fresh, so there should be something... emotions, scattered thoughts. But there is nothing! As if whatever killed them, tore apart their souls right along with them
Ianna if being present at the time

Within the caves the decimated corpses of goblins could be found. They had been torn into shreds by huge claws. Whatever did it, entirely devoured their essence, as even Ianna was unable to identify any remains of a soul on the corpses. The being who did it turned out to be a Devourer. The being could be found in the central cave where it currently was fighting the strange human, Uram.

The human seemed to be in a pinch and thus Corporal Tahar intervened and slaughtered the Devourer. Uram was furious though, because he did neither need help nor did he want to be supported by "ignorant bunch". He would not listen to reason at all unless one of the Corporal's companions drops the surname Tahar to the Corporal.

To learn how to control a demon race, you first need to fight it. Tame it, as we say! And guess what, that's just what I was trying to do, until you popped in and nullified the fucking ritual.
Uram explaining his intentions

Uram noticed the relationship with Isamo Tahar rather quickly which entirely changed his mind. After having learned from the group about the Bloodburn and the crisis Nortander was currently facing and about the shapers' Collective Subconscious being involved, he even wished to join. He offered Corporal Tahar to join his ranks as a possible new companion.

Your story is as intriguing as your father's, I'll give you that. And since I do not exactly have many obligations, I will take your up on your offer, if it still stands
