Adamantinum is a precious material appearing in SpellForce: The Order of Dawn and SpellForce: Conquest of Eo. It is often used by dwarves to create masterpieces with their blacksmithing skills.

During the rune wars[]

During the rune wars Adamantinum was rarely seen in the realm of Nortander. Even the dwarves of Windholme in the Windwall Mountains had lost their only mining site: The Stoneblade Mountain. When the Phoenix Bearer came to Skarvig during her travels, she offered her help in reclaiming the lost island. He asked her to search for remains of the settlers who had once lived there.

Red Adamantinum[]

During her fights against the beastmen and minotaurs of the Stoneblade Mountain the Phoenix Bearer made contact with the Servants of the Deep. Those powerful elementals were in a deep bond with the god Niethalf and after some persuasion they forged her an Earthblade as a reward for clearing Niethalf's curse.

Upon returning to Windholme Skarvig referred the Phoenix Bearer to Urak Gursam, the master blacksmith of the city. Urak said he'd be able to complete the weapon by adding a grip powerful enough to withstand the forces within the Earthblade. But for this grip he needed Red Adamantinum. This advanced form was created by adding demons' blood and stone of Eternal Fire to the smolten metal and then cooling it off with the tears obtained by a soulless being. It is not clearly stated what advantages this new adamantinum sub-type has but supposedly it is able to channel the magic powers better.

Adhira's request[]

When the Phoenix Bearer listed to Adhira's request at Greyfell, she was asked to bring her the blood of powerful beings. She wanted to create a drug able to empower even the weakest beings. However she needed a vessel of pure adamantinum in order to complete her potion. The Phoenix Bearer asked Skarvig Ironbeard to forge such a vessel from the leftover adamantinum she still possessed from her journeys. Adhira's potion was given to Tombard who went berserk - however it is not clearly stated if that was the intended result of if an accident happened during the process.

Currency at the bank of Empyria[]

During the final weeks of the rune wars the rune warrior visited the bank of Empyria in Xu. There he learned from Brynjolf that adamantinum was considered an alternative currency in these lands. The price was changing depending on a balance of offers and needs and a good trader would be able to make a fortune with it. However after the Raven Pass was liberated the prices of adamantinum plummeted as there was now a massively increased amount of adamantinum on the market due to the reopened mines there.
