After Clara Farlorn and the refugees had successfully fled from Farlorn's Hope during The Refugees, they arrived at the Iskander Wilds.
However the group was tired and decided to take a rest in the southeast of the area. The refugees were exhausted and one of them had grown terribly ill on the way and was unable to go any further. Clara Farlorn asked the Corporal to go search for firenettle, which should help against it.

Searching the medicine herb[]
There are four factions within the Iskander Wilds which the Corporal could ask for the Firenettle according to Clara Farlorn: The royal army garrison located at the fortress Vastel, the rebels of the former house of Iskander to the northwest, the soldiers of the house of Utran and the priests of the Purity of Light.
Royal Army of Nortander[]
The royal army would refuse to even talk to the Corporal about personal matters, let alone give them some of their rare provisions. He was sent off without getting anything at all.
Iskandian rebels[]
The leader of the rebels, Commander Theon, said that their firenettle reserves had been emptied recently and even if he had some, he would not waste it on civilians that were not supporting the fight against the royal army. Thus the Corporal was not able to get anything from him either.
Soldiers of the house of Utran[]
The border to the lands of the house of Utran had been closed because of the refugees. When the Corporal asked for some firenettle, he was rejected since the house of Utran was not willing to give away rare resources and herbs for free. However he proposed the Corporal to talk to the "damn lunatics", the priests of the Purity of Light.

The Purity of Light[]
At the camp of the Purity of Light, Corporal Tahar was able to meet an old comrade: Bertrand Carpel. The former corporal of the Wolf Guard had joined Rondar Lacaine as a devoted servant. He was spreading the sermons and was helping those in need. When he was informed that Clara Farlorn needed Firenettle for the villagers, he would hand out an entire sack of rare herbs with medical properties.

Returning to Clara Farlorn[]
Back at Clara Farlorn she was extremely happy about the herbs. She was surprised at how many rare herbs Bertrand Carpel had given to them and promised to use it for her comrades to benefit their health. This ends the side-quest and resumes in The Refugees.
Trivia[]
Although this quest is officially considered a side-quest just like The Refugees it kind of is a main-quest too, since you cannot proceed in The Secret of the Shapers without having completed it earlier.
