After Corporal Tahar had discussed his plans with Angar Arandir and his other companions, it became evident that in order to take on the house of Utran's army at the Iskander Wilds, they would require advanced troops for their armies.

Lord Marshal Angar Arandir would propose to talk to High-Keeper Arenor of the Iron Falcons to boost the Wayfarers' ranks. Gor was telling about an invasion of Ashreavers at the Foot of Barga Gor which he needed to take care of in order to get access to advanced troops. And a message had reached Ianna that the Morhir scryers had run into trouble at Old Haalâyash. It they would get help, they would surely dispatch a few advanced elven fighters for Corporal Tahar's cause.

The Iron Falcons! What I suggest is that we strike a bargain with them: They give us a small division of their elite Keepers and we will provide them in return. [...] The Falcons are not only excellent fighters, their presence will also inspire our soldiers. They are living legends.

Traveling to Aonir's Blade[]

When Corporal Tahar and his allies arrived at Aonir's Blade for the second time, they quickly felt that something was still amiss in the desert. When the met with Ralph Adeney, they were told that a few days after Rondar Lacaine's betrayal some devotees of the Purity of Light, soldiers of the Bane and Deathmen mercenaries arrived at the area.

They demanded the absolute submission of the Iron Falcons but when they refused High-Keeper Arenor was forced to retreat to the central fortress. Ever since, the fortress was under siege and although most of the enemy fighters had long departed to fight on other battlefields, the Deathmen remained and were keeping the Iron Falcons occupied.

Angar Arandir and Corporal Tahar then went to the former campsite of the Iron Falcons where they met with some survivors, Keeper Avery and Keeper Joanne. They both were able to survive the onslaught and then hid in the old camp, as they were not able to benefit their brothers and sisters in arms with their combat proficiency.

Reinforcing the Wayfarers[]

After having talked with both Keeper Joanne and Keeper Avery, Corporal Tahar was given access to the Iron Falcons' Champion units. However to fight back the Deathmen, the Wayfarers had to be supplied with more advanced units. A couple of optional side-quests would then start in which the respective units and their blueprints could be obtained.

Human Mentalist In the Name of Knowledge
Leyna DaBrasoe was attempting to unearth Yura's Ring from the deserts.
Helping her would unlock the Mentalist unit.
Human Catapult The Engineer
Gyffard Kayte was being forced to repair the Falcon Catapult.
Helping him would unlock the Catapult unit.
Human Keeper

Playing with Fire
Keeper Ewart was trying to stop a necromancer from controlling the undead.
Helping him would unlock the Keeper unit.

Supplying the Iron Falcons[]

High-Keeper Arenor was under heavy siege by the Deathmen and their provisions seem to have gone low already. Keeper Avery and Keeper Joanne were suggestion to provide some food through a secret exchance spot at the top of the northwestern mountains next to the Falcon Catapult. The required amount to spend are five packs of 20 SF3Resource Food, totalling to an amount of 100 SF3Resource Food.

I suggest a two-way route: We support High-Keeper Arenor in the fortress and simultaneously weaken the enemy. There is a small hole in one of the noth-western walls, just next to the catapult. If we secure that sector, we can drop resources into their courtyard. Also, Avery may not look like it but he is actually a skill Aria smith. If you get us the material we can equip your soldiers with it.
Keeper Joanne suggesting her plan

After having spend enough food to the Iron Falcons High-Keeper Arenor would unlock the barricade to the northwest and reinforce Corporal Tahar with additional troops and some intel about what had happened here.

Against the Deathmen[]

After having supplied the Iron Falcons and having obtained the necessary reinforcements for the Wayfarers' army, Corporal Tahar then proceeded with exterminating the surviving Deathmen. Their main base of operation would be found south of the Falcon Catapult. Corporal Tahar destroyed the headquarters and thus ended the Deathmen siege of Aonir's Blade. High-Keeper Arenor would thank the Corporal as well as Lord Marshal Angar Arandir for their help.

The falcons will guard the tomb... but not all of you. We will provide you with enough soldiers to both rebuild your fortress and to protect the tomb while you are with us. And once the Harbinger is dead, you can return to the canyon.
Angar Arandir proposing the exchance of forces

In return for getting a few recruits from the royal army of Nortander and the Wayfarers, she was handing over a few elite soldiers of the Iron Falcons for the Wayfarers' future battles against the Purity of Light. From there on, it would be possible to march to Iskander Wilds for starting the quest The Impenetrable Cage.

Tips and tricks[]

  • UnwaveringResolve TowerTrick
You can easily destroy the Deathmen headquarters by utilizing the sector with the Falcon Catapult. If you position either Catapults or Stone Towers on top of the mountain, you can shoot down on the headquarters without having to break through the enemy palisades.
