Winterdeep was an ancient battlefield within the Grimwarg Mountains connecting Tirganach and Fastholme in SpellForce: The Breath of Winter.

Story information

During the old times the elves of the Winterguard of Tirganach and the dwarves of Fastholme were opposing each other. At the Winterdeep the two peoples had stationed their armies to secure their broders.

Soon after both armies clashed at the Winterdeep and countless elves and dwarves lost their lives in that war. Many decades later the war still went on but lost all purpose since there were hardly any fighters left who knew about the reasons of the combat.

During the final fight of the conflict both leaders, Rogras of Fastholme and Garvyn of Tirganach, were killed simultaneously. The war came to an armistice soon after although peace was never truly declared.

During the Aryn Crisis

Because of the magic power innate to the great dragon Aryn which was released after Cenwen's abduction, the ghosts of the deceased dwarves and elves were resurrected. Dwarves and elves fought as ghosts against the living led by their former leaders Garvyn and Rogras. Only with the help of the Shadow Warrior the ghost army leaders were put to their final rest and the passage to Fastholme was opened again.
